Our mission is to recruit talented, compassionate teachers and certificated staff from diverse backgrounds and provide multiple pathways for ongoing rigorous and relevant professional growth and development.

Certificated staff includes all Classroom Teachers, Teacher Librarians, Intervention Teachers, Preschool Teachers, Counselors, Nurses, School Psychologists, and Social Workers.  Administrative Certificated staff includes all Learning Directors, Assistant Principals, Principals, Coordinators I and II, Directors, Assistant and Associate Superintendents, and Superintendent.

Classified staff encompass a variety of roles within a school district including custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, library assistants, instructional assistants, noon duty supervisors, information technology, administrative support, and student support staff.

Classified staff play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment by ensuring students have access to clean facilities, nutritious meals, and necessary support services in a classroom setting.  Employees in classified positions also contribute to the well-being and success of students by providing essential support services and building positive relationships with students. 

Merced City School District processes all parent and employee concerns and complaints through the Human Resources Department. We strive to ensure these are handled in a fair, consistent, and confidential manner.
